SDL Atlas Flammability Testing Instruments

Knowing the behavior of a material when exposed to flames or intense heat is a crucial factor in assessing its safety. Whether it is a material that is intended to directly prevent the spread of flame or we just need to know the speed of its burning or self-extinguishing, there are a number of methods to verify this behavior. In addition to the flammability tests of plastic and textile materials in the horizontal ignition position common in the automotive industry, we offer a complete range of instruments for testing the non-flammability of materials across industries.

Basic information

The Atlas HMV instrument for the above-mentioned tests is complemented by a pair of Atlas HVUL/HVFA instruments. These devices are comprehensive semi-automatic laboratory conditions for determining non-flammability according to American standards UL and FAA. Through the company SDL Atlas we are then able to offer a whole range of different instruments for determining non-flammability, such as the AutoFlamm instrument for determining the non-flammability of textile and synthetic materials in a vertical position.

Product use

There are many standards for determining the behavior of materials under the influence of flame. Let's name the most typical examples: DIN 75220, ČSN ISO 3795, VW TL1010, IEC 60695, UL94, EN ISO 6940 and EN ISO 6941.
