Telemetry systems - Accumetrics

Accumetrics, Inc. (part of PCB Group) offers a simple and accurate solution for processing and transmitting signals from force, temperature (thermocouples), voltage or ICP® sensors (pressure, acceleration, sound) mounted on moving or rotating components, machines and equipment. This solution allows, for example, to measure torque without interruption or additional force on the shaft, as required for the installation of TORKDISC and similar transducers. The offered comprehensive line of telemetry products, including battery and inductively powered systems, allows to meet the wide requirements of many industries, such as automotive, aerospace, energy, machine health, test benches and other test and industrial applications.

Basic information

In our assortment you will find single-channel or multi-channel systems. They are powered by a battery or by induction. Inductively powered systems have advanced protection against electromagnetic interference. Of course, there is an analog or digital output of measured quantities, the possibility of placing them anywhere on the measured shaft, a design as an end element or for placement in the center, a solution tailored to the requirement in any design of the structure, special systems for measuring the function (health) of the rotor of rotating machines, or a short circuit to the ground of generators.

Product use

Telemetry systems can be used in all applications where parameters need to be monitored inside a rotating or moving system. Thanks to contactless signal transmission, they do not affect the operation of the monitored device in any way and there is no risk of signal distortion due to poor contact at the signal transition from the source to the telemetric collection. Typical applications are rotating machines used in the energy industry, which are very stressed, great emphasis is placed on reliability, and at the same time are sensitive to any interference or unevenness. For example, wind or water turbine generators and their connecting shafts, rotating machine drives in environments with a risk of fire or explosion (typically in agriculture) or many applications within the framework of development and verification tests in the automotive industry.
