IMI wireless vibration monitoring system

Basic information

The Echo® Wireless Vibration Monitoring System can securely “watch over” the health of equipment multiple times a day and feed data into your existing monitoring system. The system allows maintenance teams to monitor more channels with fewer resources for machine reliability, eliminating the need to collect vibration data on healthy machines. The system also allows measurements to be taken daily on machines in hazardous, remote or hard-to-reach locations. It is tested in a variety of plant types, including power, steel, food processing, paper, chemical and automotive.

Product use

The system provides six basic measurements: 1. RMS velocity: the average of all velocity values within the sampling window and identifies low frequency faults such as unbalance and misalignment. 2. Peak velocity: is the RMS velocity multiplied by 1.414 and identifies low frequency faults such as unbalance and misalignment. 3. RMS acceleration: is the average of all acceleration values captured within the sampling window and identifies high frequency faults such as broken rotor bars in electric motors. 4. Peak acceleration: is the RMS acceleration multiplied by 1.414 and identifies high frequency faults such as broken rotor bars in electric motors. 5. True peak acceleration: is the highest acceleration value captured within the sampling window and identifies high frequency faults and impulsive faults such as rolling bearing faults and some gear faults. 6. Crest factor: is the ratio of True peak to RMS.
