VibrationVIEW software

INTUITIVE. FLEXIBLE. POWERFUL. VibrationVIEW is Vibration Research’s proprietary software that is used in conjunction with the VR9500, VR9700 and VR10500 controllers to set up and monitor vibration tests and generate automated and custom reports. It runs on all versions of Microsoft Windows and offers convenient remote monitoring and control via the web and email. Below are some of the many reasons why our customers love VibrationVIEW.

Basic information

SHAKER COMPATIBILITY

VibrationVIEW works with any electrodynamic, servo-hydraulic, or servo-electric vibration device and includes single-axis, dual-axis, dual-phase, tri-axis, multi-loop, and seismic control capabilities.

FREE ANALYSIS

Optional analysis options include cross spectrum, transfer functions, coherence, correlation, and the ability to apply mathematical functions to any trace of the graph.

GRAPHS

VibrationVIEW has an easy-to-use graphics system that includes automatic scaling and zooming capabilities. Graph images and raw data can be copied into any word processor or spreadsheet.

DATA TABLES

Our software allows for many graphical display options including:

Acceleration Spectral Density
Output Voltage Spectral Density
Channel to Channel Transferability
Phase between Inputs or Outputs
Lissajous Curves
Historical Data Logging
Real-Time Drive Voltage
Real-Time Channel Acceleration
Drive vs. Input including System Limits.

DATA CURSORS

Automatic peak search and tracking
Highlight specific data points
Calculate RMS values between arbitrary frequencies
Calculate slopes in logarithmic or linear graphs
Find harmonic resonances
Indicate bandwidth and Q-factor of resonances.

SYSTEM CHECK

All VibrationVIEW software packages include a system control mode that provides a manually controlled sine wave output, oscilloscope, and spectrum analyzer for each accelerometer input. This test mode is used to calibrate the system and verify the operation of the controller, amplifier, exciter, and accelerometers.

TEST SEQUENCER

The test sequence allows for the automatic execution of a sequence of tests. All tests can be of the same application type or test modes can be switched within the test sequence.

DATA STORAGE

All test data can be saved to any drive, including network drives, for later use. Data can be saved manually or automatically saved at user-defined intervals. Data can be easily copied to removable media. Data can be exported to universal text files with a single mouse click. All settings are in each data file. You will never again doubt the conditions used to perform the test.

CONFIGURABLE SAFETY LIMITS

To protect the test cell and vibration equipment system, the user can set configurable acceleration limits, line limits, system gain limits, and drive limits. The input channels are continuously monitored for fault conditions. The input is also validated against acceleration, velocity, and exciter displacement limits.

TEST SECURITY

Protect test integrity with a password with multiple levels of access. Operators can make changes necessary to perform the test, but cannot make changes that could damage the device or invalidate the test results.

TEST MODULES

SINE
Perform tensile and/or sinusoidal vibration tests at a fixed frequency with acceleration, velocity, and displacement control.
SINE ON SINE
Perform mixed-mode tests with up to 32 sine tones simultaneously.
RANDOM
Run random tests with a controlled spectrum (tests with a spectral Gaussian amplitude distribution).
SINE ON RANDOM
Perform mixed-mode tests with sine tones overlaid with a random background.
RANDOM ON RANDOM
Perform random spectrum-driven tests with random “tones” overlaid on a random background.

Innovations from Vibration Research®

The Vibration Research team is dedicated to solving our customers' problems. We create innovations that increase the accuracy and speed of vibration testing - from quickly measuring product life expectancy to preventing over- and under-testing. Here are our company's customer test modules:

FIELD DATA REPLICATION (FDR) uses real-time adaptive control; FDR allows test engineers to reproduce actual accelerated waveforms measured in the field in their test lab.

KURTOSION® is our patented innovative Kurtosis control method that effectively transfers large peak accelerations back into random vibration tests, making them more realistic than traditional Gaussian methods.

FATIGUE DAMAGE SPECTRUM (FDS) provides designers with a reliable way to leverage real-world data to accelerate fatigue life based on end-use environments.

INSTANT DEGREES OF FREEDOM® (iDOF) is our latest random vibration testing module that addresses the problem of unknowingly over- or under-testing high-value products.

SINE TRACKING, ANALYSIS AND GENERATIONTM (STAG) generates Sine on Random tests that reflect environments with dominant rotary tones that are displayed as sine tones on the shaker. STAG is a realistic assessment for products that may have these dominant sine components, such as engine components.

Product use

User-friendly features

The VR9500, VR9700 and VR10500 models do not require any special boards or special PC drivers. Our customers can use any computer in their lab or connect to their laptops. Simply plug in an Ethernet cable and start testing. Here are some of the user-friendly features that Vibration Research customers appreciate:

DRAG&DROP

The VR9500, VR9700 and VR10500 models allow you to quickly load tests and results into Microsoft® Word or Microsoft Excel using drag and drop functionality. Test specifications received via email or in documents can be easily inserted into test profile cards.

ETHERNET CONNECTION

Ethernet network connectivity offers important advantages over USB or PCI systems, including:

Ground loop isolation
Cable lengths up to 100 meters
No drivers required

PC AND WINDOWS INTEGRATION

The VR9500, VR9700 and VR10500 integrate seamlessly with your PC and Windows operating system, allowing our customers to leverage their existing knowledge and accelerate their learning. Simply plug in the controller, load our VibrationVIEW software and start testing.

RACK MOUNTING

The 1U VR9500, VR9700 and VR10500 easily mount into a 19-inch (483 mm) amplifier, eliminating the need for long accelerometer and actuator cables.

CUSTOMIZABLE REPORTING

All systems include our complete, robust reporting package that automatically generates sophisticated, presentation-ready reports at the end of a test sequence. Our customers can choose to use one of our pre-built report templates - users can enter important information such as technician, customer name, time, date, test parameters and more - or they can create their own, branded reports.

512 AVAILABLE INPUTS

The VR9500 and VR9700 are scalable from 1 to 128 channels. Their modular design uses 1U, 4-channel blocks that can be easily rack-mounted or table-mounted.

The VR10500 is scalable from 16 to 512 channels. Its modular design uses 1U, 16-channel blocks that can be easily rack-mounted or table-mounted.

COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

Each 4-channel or 16-channel module can be used independently on separate drivers or can be combined into a single stack for applications requiring a higher number of channels. This cost-effective solution provides significant cost savings to our customers. Additional outputs and software may be required to control more than one vibration device. Our sales representatives can help you develop a cost-effective solution for your company.

WEB AND EMAIL OPTION / REMOTE INTERFACE

Test initiation, monitoring and shutdown can be performed remotely using the controller hardware. Our customers have the option to use their tablets, phones or other mobile devices to monitor and control vibration tests in front of the vibration equipment or from anywhere in the world.

EASY INTEGRATION

Applications such as Microsoft Excel, LabVIEW, Matlab and others can be easily integrated using Active-X features.
