A compression tester is a test device specifically designed to evaluate the resistance of packaged materials and products to compressive forces. It provides the necessary information for the characterization and design of packaging that faces these hazards. Safe Load Testing Technologies has developed the innPress series, which consists of several models of compression testing machines for performing compression and creep tests on shipping containers, pallets and cargo units.
The tests are performed by placing the sample on the base of the compression tester and moving the compression plate until it touches the sample, using compression forces determined by the technician. Meanwhile, the machine measures the displacement of the pressure plate using a linear transducer with micrometer accuracy and the forces using a force gauge.
